Job Title: Project Manager
Location: West Des Moines (Onsite 4 Days/Week)

Purpose:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and successfully delivering projects of moderate complexity. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with budgetary constraints.

Key Performance Metrics:

• Successfully delivers projects within defined scope, schedule, and budget.

• Manages project resources efficiently, balancing demand and allocation in accordance with EPMO metrics.

• Receives positive feedback from project sponsors and teams regarding overall project management effectiveness.

• Coordinates interdependencies, risks, and issues across assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, oversee, and measure project work across key areas:

  • Scope (business objectives)

  • Schedule and critical path

  • Budget management

  • Resource planning

  • Communication strategies

  • Risk assessment and mitigation

• Deliver projects with minimal oversight, including:

  • Creating attainable project plans with key milestones

  • Understanding project interdependencies

  • Proactively identifying, mitigating, and escalating issues and risks

  • Managing resource demand and resolving conflicts

  • Ensuring projects achieve measurable outcomes

• Lead large, complex projects within a specific domain or function.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• 5-7 years of technical/professional experience.

• 3+ years of experience leading projects.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid approaches.

• Previous experience in insurance or financial services is preferred.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.).

• Experience in insurance or actuarial fields is a plus.

This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to manage projects effectively and drive successful outcomes.
