About the Role:
P3+Uplift’s client, is looking for a skilled Senior Tax Accountant to support the company’s taxation initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to lead key tax processes, collaborate with senior leadership, and maintain strong partnerships across the organization. This position is ideal for someone with a detailed understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, a deep knowledge of ASC 740, and at least four years of tax accounting experience in the public or insurance sectors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee company taxation initiatives, including preparing GAAP and statutory financial statements for federal and state tax purposes.
- Prepare quarterly estimated federal and state tax payments, as well as annual tax provision schedules and reconciliations.
- Develop and execute tax accounting policies and procedures.
- Work closely with external tax accountants to ensure timely and accurate tax return preparation.
- Maintain tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, and manage filings for informational tax returns (e.g., 1099, 1042s).
- Guide the Payroll team on state employment tax requirements and other payroll tax items.
- Address tax notices, manage audits, and stay updated on tax legislation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with at least four years of related tax experience.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations, along with ASC 740 and state apportionment fundamentals.
- Familiarity with SSAP 101 and insurance industry experience is a plus.
- CPA certification is encouraged but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
